Introduction

Welcome to the Red Elephant Thai Restaurant. As in many other cultures, food

is a very important part of Thai culture. What sets Thai food apart, however, are

the unique flavours that feature throughout Thai cuisine. Lemongrass, chilli,

galangal, ginger, holy basil and coriander provide a unique blend and range of

seasonings which epitomize Thai cooking. From sweet and sour to hot and spicy

to hot and sour, Thai food offers a wide range of options for the most discerning

of palates.

Rice is a very important staple food in Thailand. Traditionally Thai food is eaten

with a fork and spoon and the fingers so we offer a unique traditional Northern

Thai-style dining area where one sits on a cushion at a low table (Kan-thok).

We include Thai-hot chilli paste meals and Northern curries with sticky rice to

make your experience in this section authentic. The best way to enjoy Thai food

is to eat banquet style and sample a small amount of each dish. We provide an

authentic set menu in order to allow you to eat in this way.
